and powerdown irrespective of what method. The problem only happens after I change skins (hence my first post). I loaded up everything from your first post, and have a middle of the road sys file This is why I need to solve the two program launcher.
I will using a 2nd GPS program called Memory MapĪnd use Topographic maps (raster) for remote travel. The raster maps are basically an image like a tif or bmp of a paper map with positional information. So vector used for street mapping as the databases exist and raster maps used for outback roads and tracks where no street mapping has been carried out. Vector maps are databases of position information. It supports routes, tracks and waypoint functions etc. In in it's basic form a raster map is an electronic image of a map which shows your location as you move. I think you know more than you think.as you are the guru from what I can see.anyway explaination of Vector and Raster maps below. Oh and by the way, i earned myself a sticky lol, be sure to look at it on your wayHey Hollowman, I got a aussie topo map for australia using garmin, but really, i dont go out much lol, i dont have a 4wd either. i dont know anything about vector/raster maps etc. good to see your heading forward, rather then backwards like me sometimes lol. I will now move onto figure out the dual launcher for vector maps and raster maps, that is IGO8 and Moving Map with Hema offroad maps (ITOPPO). Thanks to all and in particular "HOLLOWMAN'.good onya mate.
Storage Card Rtnavi.Exe .exe#
exe name to suit my navi execute path as well as remove the following from the sys.txt fileĪnd added the following to the sys.txt file The only thing I did from that point was change the main folder name and the. In summary I downloaded all stuff as per instructions in post 1 of this thread, formatted in FAT32 and loaded as per directions in post 1 of this thread. Will test over the next few days and report back. I booted the SD card again via navi button and the program loaded beautifully with all functionality and correct screen resolution. I then added the following to the sys.txt I booted SD card via navi button and the program appeared to load but went straight to a dark screen with fine vertical lines. I took out the info from the sys.txt file as suggested above and installed SD card. One thing I couldn't resolve was should the SD card be formatted FAT32 or FAT as you had mentioned FAT32 elsewhere in the thread but have read FAT in other threads. Like everyone when I learn something new I will help where I can. Great thread you have created and great support you have provided for all.
I got rid of most of the sys.txt as suggested below īut left the following in which may be the problem. I believe I am close to getting it boot into IGo8 and will keep trying. The navi button selects the path mention above and I have checked this on the unit as well.
I have the unit running and GPS with Sat view all okay. Thx for the reply and yes I have read and re-read the posts here but sometimes I can get confused.a little bit of knowledge can be dangerous for me.lolĪnyway I will try you suggestions and others as well before reposting. If your running 800x480 then you will need to add a resolution setting in your sys.txt, i strongly sugguest you read this whole thread as most of your answers are here already Hey Hollowman, This will stop the database not found errorĭo u have a select exe path thing on your unit ? Get rid of this line as stated in previous posts Mate prob a silly question but have you used the unlock program, I had to unlock my old Navman ICN520 to get it to accept IGO8
Storage Card Rtnavi.Exe software#
I am running a 800x480 screen resolution and will probably need to sort that out next but thought I would like to get the navi software to boot first. This is the sys.txt file from the first post: see belowĬan someone please tell me what I change and where I change it.thanks from a newbie. I have also had the "database is not found error" on a different string in the sys.txt file. I have tried various versions of this in the sys.txt file but the best I can do is get a blank screen that looks like it is trying to boot up. I am not sure what I change to get it to boot from the card. I have changed the IGO8 folder name to "Rtnavi" and the IGO8.exe name to Rtnavi.exe My in dash chinese unit needs the following path to execute the navi program. I have downloaded all items as per first post and have installed on a SD card.I formatted the SD card to begin with using FAT32.or should I have formatted using FAT?
